What We Believe

what_we_believeGod’s Love

We believe that, although the world contains much suffering, the universe was created by a God of love who cares for everybody in it.

The world in which we live

Our world contains many contradictions. On the one hand there is beauty, truth and love, but on the other there is suffering, hate and death. The root cause of this contradiction is the breakdown of the relationship between God and His world. This is why God can seem so distant and far away.

God’s Son

We believe that the Gospel – Good News – of Jesus Christ is the hope for our troubled world. The Gospel message tells how, 2000 years ago, God made the first move in restoring our relationship with Him by sending His only Son Jesus Christ to live among us here on earth.

Jesus spoke of His Father’s love for mankind but His words of love and forgiveness were rejected. Jesus was cruelly executed on a Roman cross.

Jesus’ death was not the end of His rescue mission, but the beginning. By dying and miraculously rising from the dead, Jesus has paid the price for our mistakes so that each and every one of us can experience God’s amazing love and enter into a new and living relationship with Him.

“I am the way and the truth and the life,” said Jesus. “No-one comes to the Father except through me”. St. John 14:6
