Grief can often become an occasion for spiritual growth and change. God can and does heal the spirit through the power of prayer and by allowing the natural grief process to run its course. Grief has a beginning, a middle and an end when acceptance comes. God longs to mend shattered lives and healing is a sign of God’s Presence in the world.
Death is not the end of life, merely the passage whereby the soul can enter a more glorious life in heaven. Our ultimate hope, healing and wholeness is in heaven.
St. Saviour’s Bereavement Care Group was formed in 1992, to offer the bereaved, comfort, help, reassurance, conversation (yabber), sympathy, agape (Christian love), a listening ear, involvement in other activities and support. All the qualities which now form our Bereavement Care Group, Chrysalis.
Individual home visits are made when needed and the group meets informally at the Vicarage for a chat and a cup of tea.
